2008 Schedule

America's Boating Course -
8 Hours - Tues & Thurs 7- 9 pm

March 4, 6, 11, 13
April 15, 17, 22, 24

This course is an updated version of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary's popular Boating Safely course targeted to the new boat owner/operator. Basic boating terminology, rules & regulations, right-of-ways, seamanship and safety considerations are topics covered to make the boating experience safer and more enjoyable. Course material provided includes a textbook, an interactive CD-ROM, and access to a supporting Web site. Graduates may be eligible for discounts on boat insurance. 8 hours, taught in four, two hour sessions. Class size is limited to 10 students. -  $43.00

    GPS For Mariners -
8 Hours - Tues & Thurs 7- 9 pm

May 6, 8, 13, 15

Learn essential global positioning system concepts and how it applies to the small boat owner.  Discover the functions of you GPS from the basic to the more advanced.  Master the concepts of way points, routes and route planning.  Students should bring their handheld GPS to class for the hands-on exercises.  The course fee includes the textbook. -  $43.00
